Artwork description - The idea for this painting was born from the desire to represent through an image the theatrical work of the English poet and playwright William Shakespeare, The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark. In fact, the painting almost becomes, from a visual and representative point of view, a theatrical poster for this renowned tragedy play. In the painting, the artist tries to bring together the feelings and sensations transmitted by the written text such as the anguish, the tragedy, the melancholy and above all the indecision, the doubt. From here in fact, the choice to introduce into the image the well known phrase from Hamlet's monologue: "To be or not to be, that is the question..."
